WHAT IS A SKID STEER LOADER?

A skid steer loader is a small compact machine with a rigid frame. Sherpa Skid steer loaders are typically four-wheel miniloaders with the wheels mechanically locked in synchronization on each side and the left-side drive wheels can be driven independently of the right-side drive wheels. Skid steer loaders are popular in many different branches. The generic term Skid steer loader is derived from the verb ‘to skid’.CHARACTERISTICS SKID STEER LOADER

The wheels of a SHERPA mini skidsteer have no separate steering mechanism and hold a fixed straight alignment on the body of the machine. By turning the left and right wheel pairs at different speeds, the machine turns by skidding.  The extremely rigid frame and strong wheel bearings prevent the torsional forces caused by this dragging motion from damaging the machine.

Our Dutch mini skid steer loader is turned by generating differential velocity at the opposite sides of the vehicle.  SHERPA Skidsteer loaders are capable of zero-radius “pirouette” turning. This makes the skid steer miniloader extremely maneuverable and valuable for applications that require a compact an narrow miniloader.

Another characteristic is that the lifting arms are alongside the driver. The big advantage of the SHERPA Skidsteer is the fact that you’re standing on the machine. In this way you have a great overview on your bucket and direct working environment.

Our SHERPA Skidsteer loaders are driven by 4 Rexroth wheel engines. The smallest machine is only 76 cm width and weights only 570 kg. This makes transport of the machines very easy. Our Dutch miniloader is only constructed with components from A-brands. Using quality components makes sure that wear and tear is reduced to a minimum.

USABILITY OF SKID STEER LOADERS

Skid steer loaders are used in many different branches. Like other miniloaders, Our SHERPA 100 can push material from one location to another, carry material in its bucket or load material into a truck or trailer. Our SHERPA miniloaders are especially designed for heavy road construction and pavement work. Our company can supply over 50 different attachments. Therefore working in gardens or in stables is no problem at all.
