Whitepaper Choosing electric if your're a landscaper

As a nature enthusiast, you ‘naturally’ make the best choice for the environment as well as for your health. However, electric machines are often more expensive to purchase than their fuel-powered counterparts.

In this document, we highlight all the factors that should be considered when choosing electric and provide you with honest advice.

SHERPA in Winter

Frost, snow, icy rain, short days. For landscapers, it comes with the territory. What doesn’t have to come with it; unnecessary heavy lifting, delays in your schedule and extra labour hours because the work simply becomes tougher. With the right mini loader, your working day stays under control; even when conditions are working against you.

SHERPA 100; compact where it’s needed, powerful where it counts

The SHERPA 100 is built for situations where space is limited. Narrow side entrances, tight urban gardens, access routes alongside houses; places where larger equipment simply can’t operate.

What you gain

  • Less physical strain when moving soil, sand or snow
  • Faster progress on smaller sites
  • Greater control in wet and slippery conditions
You notice the difference especially in winter. Where manual barrowing and lifting put pressure on your schedule, the SHERPA takes over the heavy work. With a standard bucket or high-capacity bucket, you can move large volumes of snow or material in a short time. And when the season changes, the same machine is ready for earthmoving, landscaping and maintenance. Not a seasonal machine; but your year-round workhorse. Explore all specifications of the SHERPA 100 (available in diesel, petrol and electric) and discover the range of compatible attachments.

SHERPA Z20; start quietly, work all day

If you regularly work in residential areas or urban environments, noise is often the limiting factor. The SHERPA Z20 removes that limitation.

This electric mini loader operates almost silently. That means:

  • Starting early without complaints from neighbours
  • Working at care facilities, schools or inner-city projects
  • Less fatigue caused by vibration and engine noise

Even in low temperatures, the lithium battery delivers consistent power. Intermediate charging is simple; a short charge during a break is often enough to complete the rest of the working day. No fuel handling, no on-site emissions; just instant, available torque.

For landscapers increasingly facing emission regulations or tenders where sustainability is a key factor, the Z20 is a logical next step. Available on tyres or tracks.

We’re expanding our popular Z series with two new machines on tracks: the Z40T (gasoline) and the Z50T (diesel). These machines combine the trusted power and compact design of our existing Z series with a tracked drive system. This allows them to perform exceptionally well on soft, wet, or uneven surfaces.

Always optimal performance

“Our customers want one thing: machines that consistently perform, regardless of the conditions,” says Jeroen Holman, International Sales Manager at SHERPA Mini-loaders. “With this tracked drive, we combine the proven power of the Z series with unmatched grip and stability. That makes the Z40T and Z50T the ideal choice for landscapers, construction companies, and groundskeepers who want to be able to work under all conditions.”

Power and Control

At just 97 cm wide, the machines effortlessly maneuver through narrow passages. Their powerful engines (a 22 hp Honda gasoline engine in the Z40T and a 25 hp Kubota diesel engine in the Z50T) deliver impressive lifting capacity relative to their weight. Thanks to the track system, the weight is evenly distributed, resulting in minimal ground pressure and maximum traction, even on challenging terrain.

SHERPA F50 articulated Mini-loader 2025 kniklader
It’s finally here: meet the new SHERPA F50. And this isn’t just any addition; it’s the most powerful articulated loader in our range yet, and the final piece in our carefully crafted product line. With a lifting capacity of up to 1750 kg, a double boom, and two gears, combined with the maneuverability, build quality, and ease of use SHERPA is known for, the F50 marks the end of a complete and well-thought-out product line.

Designed by you, built by us

The F50 wasn’t born on a drawing board—it was forged on farms, in fields, and on construction sites. Our customers asked for more lifting power, without compromising on compact design, transportability, or operator comfort. The F50 is our direct response. It delivers powerful performance under tough conditions, offers maximum stability, and combines that with precision and safety on the job. Whether you’re moving materials, loading bulk goods, or switching quickly between tasks, the F50 delivers exactly the extra power and stability professionals in the field were asking for. With its robust construction and increased lifting capacity, the F50 meets the demands of those who expect more from a compact articulated loader.

Why you’ll want to work with the F50

What sets this machine apart is the combination of brute force and total control. Thanks to its low center of gravity and clever frame design, you can work safely— even on uneven terrain or when handling awkward loads.

The dual-arm boom provides strong breakout force and ensures perfect parallel motion of the attachment. Two speed ranges make it possible to drive both powerfully and quickly. Whether you’re ripping up paving stones, transporting bales, or loading a trailer, the F50 is easy and precise to operate.

And we haven’t forgotten the operator. With a low, spacious entry, adjustable steering column, and excellent visibility of the attachment, the F50 is ideal for professionals who get in and out of the machine multiple times a day.

F50

Powerful, yet easy to transport

Despite its impressive lifting capacity of 1,750 kg, the F50 remains surprisingly compact and lightweight. That makes it not only highly maneuverable on site, but also easy to transport on a standard trailer—no special license or transport required. Ideal for professionals who need to deploy the machine flexibly across multiple locations.

A complete range: from mini to mini+

With the introduction of the F50, the SHERPA lineup is complete—from our compact SHERPA 100 for light, precise tasks to this new powerhouse. There’s now a SHERPA for every job.

The F50 fills the final gap in our range: a compact articulated loader with more power, without stepping away from our vision of quality, simplicity, and reliability. It’s the model we were missing. SHERPA fans no longer need to settle for second best—we’ve got you covered.

The power and weight of the F50 mark the limit of our miniloader philosophy. Everything you should expect from a compact loader is built into this machine.

More power. Still 100% SHERPA.

The 19th SMOPYC international show for public works, construction and mining technology took place from November 22nd to 25nd in Zaragoza, Spain. Thanks to our partner Anzeve, the latest SHERPA machines were shown and introduced.

This international 3-yearly fair shows a complete picture for these sectors of all innovations and companies active in Spain and Portugal. It is also the meeting and networking place in the Iberian part of Europe.

Our partner Anzeve Madrid/Leganes made a big splash at the fair with a complete overview of all its products, services and partners for this industry. Together with Anzeve’s entire dedicated team, we had a powerful and complete presence at this fair.

A great opportunity for SHERPA to support our relationship with Anzeve with the introduction of the new generation of skid steer/compact machines in the form of the SHERPA Z10 and Z50. These machines are now also available for the Spanish/Portugese markets via Anzeve, in addition to the familiar narrow, compact and electric models from the SHERPA 100-series.

To strengthen the good cooperation between both companies, the distribution contract for SHERPA with Anzeve for the region of Spain and Portugal was also extended. We are pleased and proud that we have been able to extend this amazing collaboration once more.

We are proud to introduce our newest machine: the Z20! Part of the revolutionary SHERPA Z-series and a shining example of sustainable innovation. As powerful as any petrol or diesel model, but without any harmful emission. Ergonomically optimized and particularly maintenance friendly. The Z20 is an asset to any professional willing to work efficiently, safely and above all sustainably. Below you’ll read why.

We believe in the power of machines to relieve hard work. To reduce costs and to lower the increasing pressure caused by the tightening labour market. From that point of view, we combined all our knowledge, experience, and feedback gained over the past years into a new range. The SHERPA Z-series, with the Z20 as an absolute cherry on the cake.

Ergonomically perfected

Comfort and ergonomics go hand in hand. In addition, good posture allows the driver to focus better on operating the machine, which contributes to safe and efficient use. The Z20, just like the rest of the Z-series, is therefore ergonomically perfected. The driver always stands in a relaxed position, with the full control panel within hand reach.

The Z20 is also equipped with an adjustable footplate, ensuring extra driver comfort. We have also optimized the lifting and parallel arm, so the driver has a better view on the load. This also ensures the load to stay in horizontal position.

Powerful, without harmful emission

Equipped with a lithium-ion battery, the Z20 undoubtedly exceeds your expectations regarding power and sustainability. This machine is just as strong as any petrol or diesel model but has no harmful emission. In addition, a lithium-ion battery is maintenance-friendly and lighter than a lead-acid battery. Also, this battery doesn’t lose any power when it runs out and has a longer lifespan.

The Z20 can continuously work up to six hours. Do you work in shifts, for example with a lunch break in between? If you charge the machine for just one hour during such breaks, it can be used for a full workday.

Sustainable and maintenance friendly

The past years we have dealt with many challenges in the working area. First we needed to work at a safe distance, next we were facing extreme staff shortages. The Z20 offers a way out: an extra pair of hands to carry out heavy work in a more efficient, safe, and sustainable way, without any harmful effects on the environment.

The Z20 is a quality product: its design is based on comfort and lifespan. We have therefore paid additional attention to user convenience. For example, the Z20 is equipped with four-wheel motors, making this machine particularly easy to look after.

Future ready

With this powerful and eco- and maintenance-friendly machine we are ready for the future. Are you as well? We are pleased to provide you with more information on the Z20. If you are interested, feel free to contact us.

We are proud to extend the successful collaboration between Compactloaders UK and SHERPA mini-loaders. As a result, UK customers continue to have access to the latest innovations in compact loaders that help businesses make heavy work light. With the latest SHERPA mini-loaders customers are able to boost productivity and profitability by reducing physical heavy labor and costs. For professional advice on the latest developments in sustainable working equipment. Compact loaders is THE specialist in the UK!

We believe in the power of machines to ease hard work. In all industries, including (road) construction and demolition, where many are physically pushed to their limits. To spare those professionals, we have spend the past decades developing an extended range of mini-loaders and fitting tools. Last year we introduced the revolutionary Z-series, consisting of several machines that exceed all expectations. In the spotlight today: the Z10 and Z20!

The revolutionary Z-series

At SHERPA mini-loaders we have one clear mission: to relieve and sustain hard physical work. To do so, we come up with innovative and often revolutionary solutions, with the Z-series being a prime example. A series in which we have combined all feedback, knowledge, and experience gained over the past years. The result: machines that meet any expectations or desires in terms of ergonomics, design, and user-friendliness.

In this article, we want to shed some extra light on two of the pioneering machines the Z-series have to offer: the Z10 and Z20. In our opinion, these machines are indispensable in a safe, efficient, and sustainable work environment. Read along to find out why.

The perfect team mate(s)

We are very proud to present the new Z10 and Z20. The icing on cake when it comes down to sustainable innovation: completely emission free and ergonomically optimized! On both machines the driver stands in a relaxed position from which he has all levers within hands-reach. In addition, both the Z10 and Z20 are equipped with an adjustable footplate, improved lifting arm and a parallel arm that keeps the load in a horizontal position.

If you are in need of extra and long-lasting power, the Z20 will fit your needs. Because of its lithium battery, the Z20 is more powerful than its little brother. A lithium battery is maintenance-free, lighter, and more efficient than a lead acid battery. The Z20 therefore barely loses power when its battery is running out. In addition, lithium batteries have a longer lifespan and can be charged in between work shifts. If the battery is charged for one hour during lunch break, the machine can be used for an entire work day.

Safe, efficient, and sustainable

The past years we faced lots of challenges in our working areas. First we needed to work at a safe distance from one another, next we were dealing with extreme staff shortages. The Z10 and Z20 offer a way out: an extra pair of hands that take over hard work and carry it out safer, more efficient and sustainable, in the broadest sense of the word.

Both the Z10 and Z20 are completely emission free. These machines therefore do their work without any harmful effects on the environment. Moreover, these are quality products, designed to have a long live-span. And lastly, we paid extra attention to user comfort: thanks to the four wheel motors, these powerful machines are particularly low-maintenance. We are ready for the future, are you?

We are happy to announce reinforcement of our sales department! On June 20th, Geert Bosscher joined our team as sales manager of the Netherlands. Born and raised in the North, Geert will mainly focus on increasing our sales in the upper part of our country. Will he succeed? Undoubtedly! Over the past eight years, Geert has also ensured a growth of compact construction machines at Wacker Neuson.

Geert is 39 years old and lives in Heerenveen. With his girlfriend Lisanne and their two children Finn and Tess he will soon be moving to his childhood home. As we can only expect from a real man of the North, Geert used to ice skate at a high level. He also played no less than fifteen years in the first team of his local soccer club. These days of top-class sports are over, however: he now prefers recreational skiing and rather deploys his sports mentality in the workplace, Geert says.

It obviously takes a lot of courage to join a new company on the other side of the country. Why Geert chose SHERPA? Because he liked the idea of a family business with its own production location. Geert also got along very well with the other sales managers Daan and Jurgen and managing director Corné Roovers, with whom he had great conversations. We wish Geert all the luck and hope for a pleasant, long-term collaboration!

A few weeks ago World of Concrete took place. A yearly event in the Las Vegas Convention Centre and the ideal place for all professionals in construction, demolition, and the concrete industry to meet. New products are presented, but there is also plenty of room for conversation and knowledge transfer. This year revolved around sustainable innovations: the perfect moment for Cratos Equipment to promote their emission free machines, with in particular our electric mini-loaders!

Cratos & Vacuworx

Cratos Equipment has successfully brought our electric machines on the North American market, especially in the construction and demolition industries. A stand at WOC therefore was the ultimate opportunity to continue that success with new innovations. All sales managers of Cratos attended WOC, led by CEO and founder Alex Berg.

Corné Roovers and Marcel van den Hanenberg visited WOC on behalf of SHERPA mini-loaders. To meet up with Cratos Equipment, but also to get in contact with other business relations. This is because our machines were not only shown at the stand of Cratos, but also at Vacuworx: they demonstrated various vacuum applications with a SHERPA.

The new Z-series

To honour the theme, the electric and already praised SHERPA 100 Eco and SHERPA 100 2Speed were presented at WOC. Furthermore, this was of course the perfect moment to introduce the new Z-series to the American market: our next generation skid steer loaders, completely emission free and significantly improved in terms of power, ergonomics, and design. The Z-series are therefore considered the next step in working smart – indispensable for anyone that wants to ease hard work in a sustainable way!

Strong growth

Our machines are compact, but powerful. They are also agile and durable: the ideal partner to ease hard work. Our skid-steer loaders were therefore received with much enthusiasm in Las Vegas, just as the demand in Europe continues to rise. The overstrained labour market contributes to this as well: now staff is becoming scarce and more expensive, a SHERPA offers a solution.

We therefore expect our machines to stay relevant and more (potential) customers to become familiar with their benefits. Especially since we are expanding our tools, which ensure even more convenience. Hence we strongly believe our machines will remain subjects of interest to anyone involved in hard work.

Trends & expectations

At the event it became clear more and more machines and tools are getting electrified and combined with one another. For example, Cratos Equipment combined a SHERPA with an electric TWINCA and Vacuworx demonstrated the use of our machines with vacuum applications. We hope and expect to develop such tools ourselves, but also to work with these market parties more often in the future. This way, we can offer our customers a comprehensive solution, with smart machines that make hard work easier, more efficient and sustainable.
